Real-time creature created for game production pipeline. High poly sculpt, focusing on realistic anatomy and skin. Retopologized and optimized for real-time applications. Texturing was done using UDIMS layout and PBR workflow, focusing on natural skin variation, roughness breakup, AO for darken enclosed areas and SSS for organic surface detail.
Lore:
Its name derives from an ancient foreign word meaning “forest settlers.” The Waldsiedler is a species capable of penetrating its victim's cerebral cortex, turning the victim into its means of transportation. Once a subject is found, they wander through the forest, though their reason for doing so is unknown. Contrary to what local folklore claims, the Waldsiedler is not a colossal ogre, but a fungal infection that condemns the living being afflicted by it to a state of continuous trance. Very little data has been gathered regarding the infectious process. It has been observed that victims rapidly lose their vision and, like their host, come to receive all information from the environment through the sense of touch, attacking everything they touch and perceive as a danger.
Note: They tend to prefer ogres as hosts. Perhaps, due to their build and robustness, this guarantees them a more lasting possession of the body, though this is mere conjecture.
